Rose Festival in Kazanlak, Bulgaria (5-7 June 2020) celebrates our deep connection to the Rosa Damascena – the Bulgarian oil-bearing rose and all the gifts it has blessed the Rose Valley with for centuries. During the festival you can participate in various events like Rose-picking rituals, organised in various locations around the Valley, Rose Festive Parades (Carnivals), Festive processions of the Rose pickers. During the Rose Coronation the new Rose Queen will be crowned, accompanied by a magnificent triad of traditional dancing and singing from various folklore groups.
The main idea of the the International Festival of Folklore Costume in Zheravna is that the visitors have fun, sing, play and dance as their great-grandparents did in the past. All participants will be a wearing typical Bulgarian folk costumes (see details below in the program). During the festival, there will be held demonstrations of folk crafts, authentic Bulgarian folklore, traditional cuisine, rakia, wine and other typical Bulgarian stuff.
